everybody else opened up and i made shots down the stretch and we played as a team and won. >> jenn: how big was the rebounding for your team, especially early on when you weren't hitting any of your shots? >> rebound was huge. coming into the game they rebounded 11 boards. we knew we had to rebound very well and thought we did a good job of that. >> jenn: i know it's early, first game of december you're in first place in the acc. >> we won this, we can't dwell on this, we have to move on and our next is harvard. we know what happened last year and think if we do well with them we will have great success. >> jenn: how do you feel coming out of this game? where does your team go from here? what's the next step? >> we have to work on team's defense and work on things collectively. i feel this win will motivate us as the game goes on. >> jenn: congratulations. back to you. >> 23 offensive rebounds for boston college, only four for

miami. we talked about it at halftime. frank haith said about that, you have to rebound the basketball. >> mike: i thought miami did a nice job getting themselves back into the game. ramped up their intensity a little bit. he will be disappointed with the board work, a point of emphasis. it's a win for al skinner but a lot of teaching points for him. >> ron: speaking of al skinner, he's in the gym right now. >> jenn: coach, mike was talking about teaching points you take out of this game. >> we have to learn to close the game. we got too relaxed with defense and offensively. we missed free-throws and open shots. we played great and all of a sudden we tried to coast home. you can't do that in this league, the players are too good, won't quit and we have to maintain intensity throughout to make the free-throws and open shots. >> jenn: it might have made you sweat a little bit but they came back in the end. what do you think of how they finished in the last three

minutes? >> i knew we were a tough team mentally but wasn't overly concerned about that that's upsetting because i know that's not us. we should have been able to close out that game. give emma lmiamemmmiami a lot o. they fought back. >> jenn: you seemed to be more effective running your offense especially early on. >> we had more ball movement, the basic difference between the first half and second half. first half, we're looking over the defense and trying to find gaps. the second half, we just moved the ball and guys recognized it. better ball movement. >> jenn: is rebounding something this team can clearly hang its hat on, you had a great performance on the boards today. >> any time you play against a team that plays a zone, there's no responsibility for boxing out. our wing guys are pretty quick, they can get to the ball pretty well. those -- they will create opportunities for us.

miami out-rebounded by 25 in the ballgame, still had a chance to win this game. tied it at 57 and had a chance to take the lead late. come up on the short end of the stick, 61-60, losing to boston college in the acc opener. our scoreboard, duke, number 6 in the country took care of st. john's by nine. kentucky and north carolina did battle. kentucky coming out on top.

versatility leading to really good defense. they've.ñíkñ already forced sev steals in this game so far. in their last game against alcorn they had 21. it's the tenacity that kansas can get guys into bad rotations, they can get them playing faster than they want to play and ultimately get easy baskets. when you get a team like kansas, easy baskets makes them that much harder to beat. that's why people think they are the best team in the country. >> steve: michael, ucla is scoreless the last four minutes, 0 for 5. when you think of kansas you think of a high octane offense. many don't realize they were fifth nationally in field goal defense at 38% last year. ucla cuts it to seven. dragovic is here. >> marques: there's that high/low bill self is known for. morris capitalizes on the inside. >> steve: he really sealed off his defender underneath the
